Technical Inspector E&I

The Technical Inspector E&I participates in the day-to-day technical management of vessel systems and equipment, and assists the Technical Superintendent and vessel crew with planning, repairs, maintenance and modifications.

Your Mission

  • Support the Technical Superintendents and the Vessel Management Teams
  • Investigate possible cost reductions and propose or implement savings without adversely impacting vessel uptime
  • Prepare detailed budgets for approval for modifications and investments, and control these during execution and report actuals after project completion
  • Get quickly up to speed with the plant maintenance and stock control systems in Oracle
  • Liaise with flag state and classification society as required
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with other departments and third party suppliers
  • Ensure all technical (E&I related) and related vessel/equipment documentation is up to date

Your Professional Skills

  • BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the offshore, dredging, construction or shipbuilding industry
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification agencies and IMO
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Accurate, flexible and cost-aware professional with a creative attitude
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad or offshore
  • Willingness to embrace new systems and technologies; open to new ideas

  • Monitor stock of spare parts required for projects under your responsibility
  • Investigate possible cost reductions and propose or implement savings without adversely impacting vessel uptime
  • Prepare detailed budgets for approval for modifications and investments, and control these during execution and report actuals after project completion
  • Liaise with flag state and classification society as required
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with other departments and third party suppliers
  • Keep technical documentation and history about vessel and equipment up to date

Your Professional Skills

  • BSc/MSc degree in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience within the offshore, dredging, construction or shipbuilding industry
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification agencies and IMO

  • Willingness to travel and work abroad or offshore
