Your Mission

  • Act as primary contact for all internal and subcontractor JLS work packages
  • Ensure assigned owner furnished equipment packages are managed, designed, fabricated, installed, tested and delivered in line with companies requirements
  • Ensure outstanding project safety and quality performance
  • Expedite actual progress with vendors and subcontractors
  • Identify and timely communicate changes and deviations from the original bid with the Project Manager and recommend course of action for own packages
  • Identify and review concessions, variation order requests and changes to subcontracts
  • Lead a multi-discipline support team • Monitor detail design and engineering for own packages
  • Review vendors’ and subcontractors’ qualification, verification, inspection and testing plans
  • Discuss technical requirements and quality issues with vendors and subcontractors in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Attend factory acceptance testing, inspection, construction and installation activities
  • Check availability, status, completion and correctness of required goods, services and documents
  • Initiate technical constructability and installation ability reviews related to own packages
  • Ensure smooth transition between different project phases and functional handover
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for the Project Manager

 

Your Professional Skills

  • MSc or BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years within offshore engineering, shipbuilding or a similar position in a construction company
  • Excellent cost awareness and negotiating skills
  • Pragmatic approach
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel

Equipment Engineer

Your Mission

  • Monitor production equipment both on- and offshore built by the company or subcontractors
  • Efficient planning and allocation of equipment for qualifications and projects
  • Ensure Technical Department’s filing system is kept up to date with equipment developments and modifications
  • Ensure adequate support and knowledge is made available for implementation of new and existing equipment on board the vessels, by means of training, manuals, and procedures
  • Provide input for and check drawings and documentation that ensure operational station layout can be achieved with the equipment setups required
  • Evaluate, check and approve deliverables of different parties, this includes but is not limited to: Bases of Design, related test reports, drawings, requisitions, commissioning reports and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports
  • Set up, plan and manage production equipment development/expansion projects when necessary, based on future projects and/or qualification trials
  • Monitor progress of all involved parties during a development/expansion project, making sure all goes according to schedule
  • Report to the Department Head Coating & Equipment regarding status of newly built equipment, problems foreseen or encountered on development/expansion projects and possible equipment improvements in a broad sense
  • Provide input for and check documents on production equipment related test or trials performed on the Training Centre

Your Professional Skills

  • MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
  • Extensive knowledge of offshore equipment
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel

Research & Development Mechanical Engineer

Your Mission

  • Prepare specifications, requirements, and define scopes of work for the mechanical part of equipment design
  • Design and develop (concepts for) new equipment
  • Prepare analysis, evaluations, calculations and/or sketches for the development of new equipment or improvement/modifications to existing equipment
  • Develop, build and test prototypes of new equipment
  • Prepare design and test reports
  • Take the initiative in new innovations
  • Give guidance and inspiration to young engineers
  • Communicate your results to your supervisor, management and vessel crew

Your Professional Skills

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with equipment design in an offshore environment
  • Experience in 3D CAD programmes
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Affinity with innovation and out-of-the-box thinking Occasionally work abroad and/or offshore (a few weeks per year)

Unit Head Equipment Services

Your Mission

  • Manage daily operations and deliverables of the equipment workshop
  • Monitor and steer the processes to contribute to the Technical Services Department KPIs
  • Supervise Work Preparers, Equipment Work Planners, Equipment Foremen and Equipment Specialists
  • Handle all internal customer contacts in a pro-active and professional way
  • Oversee forecasting and scheduling of all R&M workshop events
  • Develop, maintain and update equipment maintenance schedules
  • Manage Unit budgets in a cost effective way
  • Participate proactively in initiatives to improve departmental processes and interfaces with other departments
  • Assist with preparation of annual salary and bonus reviews
  • Analyse material usage and project feedback, e.g. lessons learned for future projects
  • Support QHSE Department in safety audits and take the lead in reporting related concerns or issues 

Your Professional Skills

  • BSc technical degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ in an offshore or maritime environment in a technical position
  • Good communicator, building and developing relationship with their counter parts in client organisations and other external parties
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Good contractual, negotiation and people management skills
  • Self-motivated
